70x70cm acrylic and collage on cradled wood panel (3.5cm deep) completed 2024

Wherever we travel, I´m always searching for little harbours to explore.  I love to see the boats bobbing, especially when the weather changes or as other boats are passing. It makes me thing about life and just how things that happen around us can effect us, even if they are not directly aimed towards us.  Whatever happens, however rought it might get, the boats are usually safe in the harbour.  I´ve used collage and additional line work to try to achieve a sense of this movement.  There is so much detail within the painting offering smaller paintings to explore such as the 2 fishermen on their way out to sea, oblivious of their wake catching the other boats as they pass.  I love adding pencil marks and small drawings to the final piece to encourage the viewer to move up close and personal, to interact with the painting, to almost jump inside!

The edges are finished in a pale titanium bluff and so there is no need for framing!  You just need to choose a wall.....
